World of Warcraft - Item Upgrading
The upgrade of an item allows players to increase an item's gear score up to 700 and add an additional perk. Items can be upgraded if they're in your inventory and you decide to take them to the kiln.
Certain items are worth upgrading because of their unique stats. (For example an excellently rolled breakpoint armor used in melee PvP). Other items such as weapons don't really change after an upgrade, and aren't worth the effort.
Weapons
Weapons can be upgraded to improve their numeric stats like damage to attack, crit chance, PvE and PvP damage. Weapons also come with a flat bonus which increases the damage they deal per second. Additionally, many weapons have an added bonus that is activated when three or more of the same weapon is present on a unit. In certain instances, this bonus could amount to more than the amount of damage that a weapon can sustain on its own.
enhancing items of upgrading a weapon is based on the rarity of the weapon and its current level. For instance, an upgrade to a +2 weapon requires two standard Smithing Stones while a+3 requires four. The number of stones required to upgrade a weapon will continue to rise until it requires the higher level of Smithing Stones, at which point it will reset to one.
Upgrades to weapons can also change the stats of the base. While this is usually beneficial but it can also have negative consequences as well. Upgrades can make items unusable, unless you are very lucky.
Armor items can be upgraded to boost their performance. In the case of chests or helms this will increase its base defense while gloves and belts will enhance their required strength and dexterity. Armor also offers the option of rerolling its Enhanced Defense percent, which means that it could roll back to a lower number.
The upgrade template for a weapon shows the new stats that it will gain upon upgrading, along with their relative values. This means that an upgrade from a sword that has 8 damage to an 11-attack-damage sword would result in a weapon gaining 33% attack damage. However the 3% difference doesn't mean that it will be hit 3 times less often, since it is an absolute number.
A weapon can also be rerolled by pressing the green button that has arrows that circle in the item menu. This will roll an item and change its statistics, but not reset the weapon's level or connect it to an account's status.
Armor
A few armor upgrades can make a huge difference to your survivability. Certain sets can provide MASSIVE increases in resistance to curses, poison and fire as well as magic. This makes it easier to get through difficult areas. In general, the more defense you have on your character, the more health you will get from each point. Therefore, it's a good idea to upgrade your armor.
You can upgrade your armor by visiting one of the Great Fairy Fountains. There are four Great Fairy Fountains within the game and to unlock each fountain, you have to complete a side quest that involves the Stable Trotters. Once you've done the main side quest and mastered the fountain in question and then you can speak to any Great Fairy to open up the armor upgrading menu.
Each piece of armor can be upgraded up to three levels, and the amount of material and Rupees required for each will vary. In general, you'll be looking at anything from three to five Red Chuchu jellies and 10 Rupees for the first upgrade, and then anywhere from five Rubies and ten Fire-Breath Lizalfos Horns for each subsequent upgrade. The Champion Leathers, for instance, can be upgraded to a 5 defense rating, which will allow you to stay ahead in frigid environments with a lot of foes. The Snowquill Headdress, on the other hand, can be upgraded to +20 defense so that you're able to withstand a rout with friends.
It isn't possible to upgrade armor the same as weapons. If you're playing as a Warrior then you should concentrate on upgrading your armor for physical strength or spell power. It is also recommended to save your armor upgrades to upgrade the armor you'll still be wearing at the end of the story, like the Ring of Lightning, Spectral Shield or the mask you use in the final boss fight the Monter Parts Merchant Mask.
You can also unlock some perks for your armor by presenting the jeweler at Gerudo Town 10 Twinkling Titanite. You'll typically want to keep these upgrades to the weapon you'll use to win the game. For instance the Longsword or Battleaxe. It's nevertheless beneficial to have some upgrades for the armor on your chest and helmets so that you can sneak around some monsters.
Potions
Potions are liquids that when consumed by a player, provide a temporary effect for a short period of time. There are five kinds of potions, each with a specific set of effects and durations. Some potions can be upgraded to improve their level of effectiveness. You can also increase the effects of certain potions by including glowstone dust and redstone.
Upgrades to potion cost a certain amount of XP. These can be earned by crafting them on a crafting table or the chest of the Alchemist. However, the cost of upgrading will vary based on the kind of potion you wish to upgrade, and also on the item's Mark Level and rarity.
To upgrade a potion, right-click it in your inventory. Then, select "Upgrade" from the menu. This will open a GUI which allows you to select the potions that you would like to upgrade and the amount of experience they will offer when upgraded. The upgrade of potions can be completed in batches of up to five at a single time, and the XP they provide will be added to your current XP count.
Once a potion has been upgraded, it will not degrade until you re-use it, or break the bottle it is stored in. Clicking on the potion in your inventory will allow you to change the name of the potion.
Version 1.7.2 introduced a few changes to the mechanism of potions. For example the splash potions now have a duration of zero,08 seconds (this is not the same as the 22.5 seconds that are displayed on the item hover display). The table of potion constructed from four Wood Planks, and two Glass. This allows it to be used by players in Survival and Bedrock. Bedrock Edition potions are not compatible with cauldrons like Java Edition. The same is true for using a potion in the cauldron that is filled. This will drain the liquid, and then refill the bottle.
Lastly, there are now lingering potions, which are made with dragon breath and splash potions. Similar to lingering potions, the can be enhanced by adding redstone. The potion table is rearranged to look more like the Java Edition. New potions have also been added, such as the potion of leaping and decomposition.
Trinkets
A trinket is a tiny and cheap ornament or piece of jewelry. It can also refer to a small ornament or object that serves a function but is not important as a trinket. In some cultures a trinket is used to express friendship or affection between family members.
In addition to armor, weapons, and potions, players can upgrade their trinkets. These can be upgraded by going to an upgrade vendor and paying the appropriate currency. Unlike other item upgrades, trinkets can be traded out at any time without losing their status.
Upgrade vendors can be found at the capitals of every zone and in some cases in dungeons. Upgrades for trinkets are available with tokens, gold or fragments of trinkets that are rare.
Upgrades are a cheaper alternative to buying a new trinket. It is possible to upgrade players for as little as 12 tokens. The new trinket will come with the same base ilvl as the previous one, and will come with an additional upgrade bonus of 1.
Trinkets can be upgraded when the old ones are no longer useful which allows a player to increase their power and value over time. They can be traded between players and are a viable alternative to gold.
Players must upgrade their most valuable items first. This means that the best-in slot items for each class are first upgraded then their secondary gear and finally other pieces of equipment that will not replace anytime soon (such as an earring or a cloak). It is also important to consider your class's preferred stats when deciding the items to upgrade. For instance when Haste and Crit are the two most important stats for tanks it is recommended that they upgrade their chest, helm shoulders, belt, and helm.
Once they have become useless, trinkets can be upgraded to a higher level. The new trinket comes with an additional bonus of 1. However, a re-upgrade will ruin the previous trinket, unless it is saved using the Black Lion Salvage Kit or an additional salvage tool of higher quality. Upgrades to trinkets are more expensive than other upgrades but still less expensive than purchasing an entirely new trinket.
